Three University of Tennessee students illegally parked their vehicles in the C-20 commuter lot near the nursing building Monday afternoon, avoiding parking citations on their windshields.
The commuter parking lot, which possesses room for only 34 vehicles, had 37 Monday, including an illegally parked silver Honda Accord, silver Nissan 200SX and white Subaru Legacy station wagon.
Not only did all three drivers cover up the bold and white No Parking letters with their vehicles, they also ignored the red and white signs posted on the fencing of the lot, which display the words, No Parking At Any Time.
According to the University of Tennessee Web site, a parking violation consists of parking in the following areas: a no parking zone, an unauthorized area, a loading zone, a fire lane, a handicapped parking space, etc.
Violaters are fined $24 to be paid within 14 calendar days.
