Strip Revitilization

Revilitalization efforts for Cumberland Avenue's "The Strip" are underway. Planners held a town meeting last Thursday, with another to be held December 5.

Representitives from Glatting Jackson Kercher, an Orlando based consulting group, are working to revitalize the Strip. They are seeking public input to help create a shared vision of the ideal Cumberland Avenue.

Those who attended last week's meeting voiced concerns about the congestion on the Strip as well as the visual clutter.

Organizers of the project seek to make this stretch of Cumberland Avenue a more pedestrian friendly atmosphere.

Plans include making the bus transit system more efficient and adding a turning lane.
