Non-traditional students can now get their education away from campus.
The University of Tennessee has 13 graduate degrees available online which include master’s degrees in engineering and informational sciences among others.
The program utilizes “Centra,” which contains two-way video and audio allowing interactive video classrooms.
Students who request online degrees are usually non-traditional adult learners who are outside the 18 to 24 age group.
Brice Bible, the chief information officer with the Office of Information and Technology, says we’ll see online courses become more and more important over time.
The pricing composition for online degrees will be the same as a traditional classroom setting because the classes are taught by the same professors and offer equal benefits.
