Summary: Public officials have opened a public forum to let local residents give input on how to revitalize the Strip.
Officials leading an effort to improve the Strip have turned to the public for ideas on how to improve the area.
The city is looking for a way to solve problems on the Strip like traffic jams and lack of parking.
Representatives of the Knoxville Regional Transportation and Planning Organization and a Florida consultant group hired to help with the project, have held a public forum to let locals say what they want to see done to the Strip.
Local residents that came to forum said they wanted to see a Strip that was more accessible for pedestrians and less unsightly.
Chancellor Loren Crabtree said that the goal is also to create a real front door to UT.
There will be another forum on Dec. 5 at the University Center.
